J and Carmen
Originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho J Kane moved to Pony in 2013 with his friend and band mate Sam Platts to pursue a life in music.
As of 2019 J is now the office manager for the Headwaters Veterinary Hospital in Three Forks but still regularly works as the bassist for Sam Platts and the Great Plainsmen.
While on a band trip to the east coast he met Carmen Allen in her home state of Maine at the Bangor Music Festival. Carmen, an organic farmer, uprooted from Maine in April of 2017 to make a go of farming in Montana.
This year she hopes to make the most of the trials and tribulations of farming in a new climate by starting her own farm in Pony. In a little trailer below the old school house they enjoy a simple life with their two dogs and the support and kinship of the welcoming Pony community.
