Kim and Max

by | Feb 9, 2019 | Faces of Pony

We first stumbled on Pony while directing a three day relay race that comes within a few miles of town (headwatersrelay.com). Both of us have roots in the Midwest, but we escaped to Montana in 2011. Our Brady bunch collection of six children range in age from 17 to 30, with the youngest just starting at MSU.

Kim’s background is in organic agriculture, owning and operating organic vegetable farms for years. Pony is home to Pony Produce, our little farmette on the hill. In case you didn’t know, trying to grow vegetables in Montana is nothing like growing them in 6 feet of Iowa topsoil. Kim has switched from healing bodies with good local food to mainly healing bodies with massage, working mostly out of Big Sky (yes, a serious but beautiful commute).

Max went to school to become something, but never quite figured it out, and so became a philosophy professor instead. In addition to building things, he corrupts young minds at MSU in the true Socratic tradition. Kim and Max are dedicated to exploring their local environs on foot, bike, and ski, and are astounded daily by the beauty and grandeur that surrounds our unique little town.
